NMUN • New Zealand
Imagine yourself in Te Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington, a vibrant capital city, famous for its natural beauty, dynamic café scene, and exciting film and creative spaces. NMUN • New Zealand will be a unique educational opportunity for college and university students from all over the world to discover how modern Aotearoa/New Zealand balances its commitment to the environment, it’s celebrated status as the first country to give women the right to vote, and its ongoing partnership and engagement with Māori as tangata whenua (the people of the land). Our simulation of the United Nations will address pressing global issues. You'll learn about the challenges facing humanity and develop the skills you need to make a difference.
Outside of committee sessions, we plan to conduct study tours to Zealandia Ecosanctuary, Te Papa Tongarewa (Museum of New Zealand), Parliament Building, National Library, and Wētā Workshop. Come experience the scenic environment seen in The Lord of the Rings films, lively neighborhoods, stunning harbor (where little penguins nest), all within a city that is compact, walkable, and full of energy!
NMUN is excited to partner with UN Youth New Zealand to provide this amazing educational experience.
