1) Contact information for the faculty advisor and/or head delegate (mailing address, phone, fax, e-mail).
Note: A correct e-mail address is very important for receiving communication.
2) An estimate of the number of student delegates to attend (a range of no more than five - e.g., 5-10).
3) Payment Information for the $200 School Registration Fee. Applications without payment will not be considered.
Payment is accepted by:
a. Visa or MasterCard on-line during the registration process (using our secure server).
b. Check (from the school or faculty advisor) or Money Order
- Checks should be made payable to “NCCA” and mailed to:
NCCA/NMUN
2945 44th Ave. S., Suite 600

– Plan ahead if requesting a school check. Universities may take six or more weeks to process a check request.
Submitting the request is not enough. The actual check must be received by NCCA/NMUN before an application is
considered. Please turn in requests early and follow-up on campus to make sure the check was actually sent.
c. By Wire Transfer. Contact outreach@nmun.org for more information including additional fees.
Committee Interest: The matrix indicates the committee assignments of each country to be represented at the simulation. If it is important to sit on a particular committee because of your interest in the topics or regional issues, be certain to select countries that are members of that committee. No more than three of your choices can be members of the Security Council.
Size: Compare the minimum and maximum number of delegates (far right column) of your countries of interest to the anticipated size of your delegation. Note: You can choose to view the complete list alphabetically or by size of assignment. Indicate if you are interested in more than one assignment.
- Each assignment lists a minimum and maximum number of delegates.
- Only request countries whose minimum and maximum delegate numbers are in a range your program can support.
For example, if you are bringing 8-12 delegates, you will not be assigned a country that can support 14-20 delegates.
- To best accommodate the large number of schools attending, we recommend you request countries that will result in you bringing two (2) delegates where allowed.
- Note: Head delegates who do not sit on a committee can attend in addition to the maximum number listed on the matrix.
Consider Applying for One of the Additional Security Council Simulations at NMUN•NY
- This simulation allows you to send 1 - 2 delegates to a separate Security Council simulation representing one of the Security
Council Members. If assigned to the additional Security Council, the delegation would most likely need to prepare to be a
different country in the additional Security Council than in the rest of the committees. This additional independent council is
intended to give more delegates, if interested, the opportunity to sit on the Security Council.
- For schools / individuals with experienced 1-2 person delegations, this may be an ideal assignment to request.
- Delegates selected for these councils can attend in addition to the maximum number listed on the matrix for an assignment.
Consider providing the Secretary-General (secgen@nmun.org) a rationale for your requests that will be reviewed when making country assignments. Additional information is available as part of the on-line application.
Reasons offered must be confined to one page total (not one page per country request). You may wish to consider using bullet points and/or only state the reasons for your top few choices.
Strong rationales often include information such as:
-- Is there a particular academic strength at your university linked to your preference?
-- Do you have students or a faculty member who might add to your preparation?
-- What other experience do you have with MUN in general and the NMUN in particular?
The person you list as the application contact will receive an e-mail confirmation of your registration. Please print this confirmation for your records.
